Welcome to David Girard Creations! This site is a collection of my published works and commission work throughout my career as a collaborative artist in many mediums. My mainstream work focuses on Illustrations through books, cover art and wood-burning which is my recent works. In the last few years, I have worked with local authors on illustrating my first books and have them published as well as attending conventions for book signings. I've begun my career as a traditional animator, graduating from Algonquin College in fundamental arts and classical animation, and pursued in mainstream tv shows to independent shorts on my own. Working from contract to contract in the animation industry, I furthered my career as a scenic director for a theming production company called Primal Rides that took my skills to the next level in sculpting with modelling clay, and making facades in the sci-fi fantasy genre. This landed me tremendous opportunity to make themes for the CN tower, haunted theme parks around kingston and Ohio and other venues. This was the highlight of my career that spanned a few years. I ventured back into another seasonal period of animating on a new show in 2005 until 2006 and involved in a feature film for a show called Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomoligist. Since then, I"ve been a freelance artist doing commission work, taking focus on my own business as DG Creations. I"ve rekindled with my old passion in wood-burning that I started back when I was 12 years of age. Ive steadily worked through 6 years of supplying wooden signs for a building clientele. Ive become a mainstream wood-burner in the Ottawa market and have supplied many personal commissions. My focus as an artist is to deliver quality made work that is valued and holds its worth.
